One local organization, and two local veterans, were honored on Tuesday, including the late father of State Representative Jay Jordan.

“He always talked about it and he made it a big deal, the service that he gave, but, he talked more about what he got out of it, what it meant to him to serve his country, but also the tools that he received from it, the personal responsibility, the integrity that came from serving something bigger than yourself,” said Rep. Jordan.

Rep. Jordan’s dad, Wallace, died last year.

He was active in helping local veterans, as was “veteran of the year” Martin Thomas, who was also honored today.

The “Quilts of Valor” Foundation was also honored.
