Pee Dee school hosts benefit concert for fallen officers’ families

DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – Students at Trinity-Byrnes Collegiate School hosted a benefit concert for the families of fallen officers Sergeant Terrence Carraway and Investigator Farrah Turner.

Several students took the stage to play instruments and sing as a way to pay respect to law enforcement.

Head of the school Ed Hoffman said it was important for the school to follow the students’ lead and hold the concert.

“We wanted to do something positive,” he said. “Something to give back to the community, and to raise funds to help the families that were in need.”

The school sold $10 tickets to the event, “Back The Blue” t-shirts, and wrist-bands.

“It’s so important to have this benefit concert,” said student Saviah Miller. “We are really contributing to our officers, and to our community and we are giving back, and it shows that Trinity is helping out, and we are showing a united front,” she continued. “I’ve never really seen Florence be so united and come as one.”

Hoffman said 100% of the proceeds go to the 2 fallen officers families, as well as wounded officers Investigator Sarah Miller, Deputy Arie Davis, Officer Brian Hart, Officer Scott Williamson, and Officer Travis Scott.
