A non-profit organization gives back to children in need all across the Pee Dee.

“Just to see the satisfaction in their face is all we need,” said Davy McClary, president of Palmetto Cruisers.

Palmetto Cruisers hosted an event outside Highway 55 and Beef Jerky in Florence, with a collection cars.

“This allows us to keep our toys, our money raised locally, so we can help families in need around Christmas time or during the year with special events or whatever need they may have,” said McClary.

Community members around town stopped by the car club site to bring new opened toys, or give donations.

“It’s a blessing. We can make families Christmas come true,” said McClary.

Organizers said they will continue to do events like this for one special reason. “It’s always been about giving back to the community. Especially children because children, they can’t control their destiny, but we can help make it a little brighter on the path they take,” said McClary.
