One person killed in early morning Florence fire, police and SLED investigating

One person was killed in an early morning fire in Florence, Sunday.

According to Florence Fire Marshal Chris Johnson, firefighters were called to a house fire in the 500 block of Marion St. at 1:30, Sunday morning. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in 20 minutes, but remained for two hours to handle hotspots. 

According to the Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken, says Bobby Albert Andrews, 50, of Florence died after being taken to the hospital.  An autopsy will be scheduled Monday morning at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.  

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Florence Police Department and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
