Emergency crews responded to a vehicle that hit a home and then rolled on its side near the Darlington Raceway Monday afternoon.
Highway Patrol reports the incident happened around 1 p.m. on Harry Byrd Highway.
Darlington Fire Department Chief Pat Cavanaugh tells News13 the driver had to be extricated from the vehicle. That person was then taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Chief Cavanaugh said this was the only vehicle involved in the crash. Part of the home’s porch was damaged by the car.
We’re told the Darlington Fire Department responded, as well as Darlington County EMS, the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Right now, it’s unclear what led to the crash or whether the driver will face charges. We have reached out to the Sheriff’s Office and Highway Patrol for additional details.
