A Florence law enforcement officer wounded in a shooting in Florence’s Vintage place neighborhood on October 3 remains in critical condition, her mother says.
Katie Godwin, the mother of Florence County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Farrah Turner, released a statement on Monday saying, in part, that Turner remains in critical condition and had both feet amputated nearly a week ago.
“First, I thank everyone for their prayers for my daughter, Farrah. As we have told everyone, she is still in critical condition and she is not out of the woods yet. The purpose of this statement is to share, however, that on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 the doctors had to amputate both of Farrah’s feet. It has been difficult for my family and I to process so we did so privately initially, but after countless hours of prayer I decided to share this information with everyone who cares about Farrah.
This horrendous act of violence has altered my daughter’s life forever but I do believe that God has a plan for her.

On Friday, News13 spoke with Investigator Turner’s cousin, Rhonda Dollard.
Dollard says Turner is a fighter, which is why she says the new social media hashtag in her support, “#FightFarrahFight,” is fitting.
“The first time I saw it, it came from some family members and church members. I saw it and I was like ‘Yeah, we gotta run with this.’ Let’s make sure we keep it out there. The more prayers the better,” she said.
Dollard describes Turner as funny and laidback. She also says she is a woman of God and has a faith that is unmatched.

FCSO Investigator Sarah Miller, FCSO Deputy Arie Davis, Florence police officer Brian Hart, Florence police officer Travis Scott, and Florence police officer Scott Williamson were also wounded in the shooting. Sgt. Terrence Carraway was killed in the shooting.
Miller and Davis were released from the hospital on Friday.
Florence Mayor Wukela said on October 4 that two Florence police officers were released from the hospital.
