Florence City Officials are planning to redesign an intersection between Baroody Street and East Evans Street, by placing a one-lane traffic circle.
This will be the first roundabout in the City of Florence.
Officials say, with the new hotel opening in the next couple of months, they would like to give drivers access to nearby places in the Downtown area.
The redesign will also include more street parking and bike lanes.
“It will build efficiency because people aren’t required to stop. It will allow continual movement from any direction within that street,” said City Manager, Drew Griffin.
The city is expected to have a pre-bid construction conference to discuss more about when this project will be completed.
