A new $32 million judicial center is set to open in Florence County on Monday morning.

News13 was invited inside of the 120,000 square foot complex Thursday ahead of its opening. It is located across the street from the Florence County Complex on North Irby Street.

The county broke ground on the complex in April 2016. The three-story building has seven courtrooms and space for 170 workers.

County leaders say the center was needed to provide better safety for those who visit and work inside of the building.

The current courthouse will close Friday at 3 p.m. to allow employees to move into the new facility.
