FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Monster WorldWide will close its Florence facility at the end of the month, moving the majority of workers to a remote position and laying off 19 employees.

“As Monster continues to evolve as a business, the company constantly evaluates opportunities to align our strategic priorities and take advantage of our technology that allows certain employees to work effectively from home,” the spokesperson said in a written statement.

A Monster spokesperson confirmed Monday morning that the company will vacate the facility, located at 2701 Alex Lee Boulevard, at the end of June, and move 95 employees to work remotely. The spokesperson adds that 19 people will lose their jobs.

“As a result, we have decided to transition the majority of the workforce in Florence to working remotely and we will be exiting the facility,” that statement reads. “Unfortunately, with this transition, we are unable to retain a modest number of people who currently work in Florence on the sales and customer service teams.”

Monster reports the company will support those released workers with a “variety of benefits and outplacement support to ensure a smooth transition.”
