Two new school resource officers will begin service in the Marlboro County School District within the next two weeks, according to district officials.
Marlboro County School Board Chairwoman Lucy Parsons says the district will place the officers at Blenheim Elementary/Middle School and Wallace Elementary/Middle School.
One of the officers is continuing the certification process, while the other is currently certified, Parsons added.
The district says the cost of the new school resource officers will be prorated for the remainder of the 2017-2018 school year. Parsons, however, did not give a specific amount.
