MARION, SC (WBTW) – A Marion County man who lost his home to Hurricane Florence flooding still had a Positively Carolina influence on his community.

Even after losing his Marion area home for the second time to flooding, restaurant owner Dolgun Dervish opened Magnolias Restaurant to feed the community for free.

“We’re doing this to help people, the needy. People that didn’t have electricity in their home to be able to get some warm food,” Dervish said through tears as he packed meals for the community.

The chicken bog meal was served Monday, with many from the community coming in to grab a hot meal.
