One person has been charged with murder following an investigation of a suspicious death.
William James Moore was arrested by Lumberton Police. Police tell us Moore is charged with first degree murder in connection to the death of Rufus Revels earlier this month.
Police were called to a home at 3155 Bakersfield Drive on Saturday afternoon. There, they found the body of 85-year-old Rufus Revels.
According to the North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Office in Raleigh, preliminary autopsy results show Revels died as a result of being assaulted.
Lumberton Police tell us Moore is also charged with common law robbery and is being held at the Robeson County Detention Center without bond.
