99 strong, that’s what the community and the Hartsville Northern league baseball team chanted during a car wash for a special teammate.

“Dylan went to the doctor’s, and they thought it was a simple virus, or a stomach ache. Through some blood work and scans a mass was found. It ended up being a tumor,” said family friend Ashley Polson.

Dylan’s teammates decided to do something and support the 11-year-old boy through this difficult time. On Saturday, family and friends got together at First Baptist Church in Hartsville and started washing cars.

“That little boy has got this town behind him. We’re supporting him 100%,” said Polson.

Almost 75 cars stopped by and donated money towards a good cause.

“He’s not my child by birth, but I love him like he’s mine. It’s overwhelming, and humbling. It means a lot,” said Polson.

The buckets, soaps, and the rags were donated by businesses around the area who wanted to give a hand to Dylan and his family.

People who are looking to donate can go to Dylan’s GoFundMe page.
