A local brewery in Downtown Florence celebrated their one year anniversary with a free festival.
The owners of Local Motive Brewing Company started nine years ago before making the decision to open their business in Florence.
“The first time we met nine, ten years ago within the first conversation, we were talking about brewing beer. So we started pretty quick. Next thing you know, the hobby became a passion and the passion became a business,” says Stephen Thompson.
Shortly after, the owners were approached by Downtown Florence to begin their dream. On Saturday’s event, vendors attended to show support for one another.
“We’re all really excited and glad to celebrate with Local Motive and all the family and friends,” says Kristen Pryor.
As a special thanks, the company came out with a surprise for beer lovers.
“We just tapped a beer today. We actually picked the hops from a farm in Loris, South Carolina. So it’s a wet hop beer, probably the first of the season,” said Thompson.
Local Motive is open seven days a week with live entertainment.
