Kids hunt for eggs dropped from a helicopter in Darlington

The Family Mission Center hosted its second annual Helicopter Community Easter Egg Drop on Saturday. 

The event featured Easter Egg hunts for children of various age groups, a special needs Easter Egg hunt, food, games and of course the Helicopter Egg Drop. The event was held at the Darlington Middle School. 

“I was born and raised here but my son was not,” said Corrie Wilson who is the parent of a child with special needs. “The area that we came from there was not a Special Needs Easter Egg hunt and here he is able to enjoy just like everyone else even though he needs a little bit of assistance. “

Over 50,000 plastic eggs were used in the event, A little over 5,000 people attended the event put on by 75 volunteers and bikers from the Gallant Souls Motorcycle club assisting with parking and directing the crowds.
