The city of Hartsville held its annual Christmas parade Sunday afternoon.

It was a day filled of fun for community members. The holidays were in full swing as several performers closed down E Carolina avenue. “I love watching it every year,” said Elizabeth Lee who has attended every year.

Hundreds of parade goers brought their owner chairs, and even sat in the back of their vehicles for the perfect view to see their favorite performers.

“I was in it last year and it was fun watching it this year. I had fun,” said Lee.

As a collaboration of the community, the Hartsville Christmas Parade featured Hartsville’s first responders, local businesses, marching bands, dance troops, and an appearance Santa Claus and his reindeers.

“My husband, he used to come here years ago, so he wanted to celebrate this new atmosphere for us,” said first timer Felicia Shields.

The Shields family already has plans to come next year, “It was pretty good, we enjoyed it. My daughter got to see Santa and threw a couple kisses up to him and it was pretty good,” said Shields.

People said this is the perfect way to start off the Christmas season.
