Community members around the Pee Dee hosted a fundraiser event to help Deputy Farrah Turner.

Deputy Turner was one of the 6 law enforcements who were shot back on October 3rd, at the Vintage Place neighborhood.

Members from the Fitness World Lady Gym gathered on Saturday to help Turner during this difficult time.

“When I found out that it was her, I just knew I had to do something. Everybody just wants to help,” said instructor Anna Chilton.

The fitness class was taught by four different instructors and the 20 ladies who attended the two-hour class wore red in honor of Deputy Turner.

Members placed a banner in front of the gym for anyone to sign and write down all the great memories they have with Deputy Tuner.

“She’s always been a very wonderful person, an open spirit. She gives and gives,” said member Talia Dukes.

Each member donated $15, and in total the gym raised $1,010 in less than two hours. The community said they will continue to help in anyway they can.

“They’re still fighting. It’s a major battle that she’s fighting and she needs all the love and support that she’s given this community,” said Chilton.

If you would like to help, all the Fitness World Gym around Florence will continue to take donations for Deputy Tuner and the other law enforcements still recovering.
