Police in Florence are investigating a homicide after they say a body was found in a home, Sunday afternoon.
According to Lt. Mike Brandt of the Florence Police Department, officers were called to the 1600 block of Dexter Ave. shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday, about a deceased person.
According to Florence County Coroner Kieth von Lutcken, the body was found inside a home, and the person died from an apparent homicide. The exact cause of death is unknown.
The body will be sent to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston for an autopsy.
