South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster made a stop in the Pee Dee on Monday, where he spoke to the Florence Rotary Club.
“We must raise our teacher pay to get them up above the southeast average. We cannot thrive as a state without good teachers, good teachers are critical. We must also see that business and industry goes into our rural areas,” said Gov. McMaster.
Raising teacher pay is part of Governor McMaster’s budget plan for the next few years.
