FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – On Thursday afternoon, a Florence County deputy who died in last October’s shooting was honored at Francis Marion University.
A campus park dedication was held to remember Investigator Farrah Turner.
FMU president Dr. Fred Carter talked about Turner’s impact on the community.
“From the time that she entered here, to matriculate through college, up until the time that she died, she was a part of this community, an active part of this community, so special for us to be able to dedicate this park to her name and it’s a beautiful park,” Dr. Carter said.
Turner was a 2005 FMU graduate.
Turner’s family members were on hand for the event.
