FLORENCE, SC –  Thursday marks the 100th day of school for Florence School District One.  Some elementary schools are celebrating the milestone in a special way. News13 stopped by North Vista Elementary where faculty, staff and students dressed up as if they are 100 years old. 

Thursday is also National Read Aloud Day and some of the students are participating in a special Read Aloud event.

News13 spoke with one student about the her costume and the celebration of 100 days of school.  Third grader, Tamia Graves said, ” My favorite part was like when I get to dress up and my favorite part was when we get to laugh and have fun to talk about other people’s outfits and laugh about that and act elderly. “

Other schools holding special 100 days celebrations include Carver Elementary where kindergarten students  lined up and formulated the number 100 for a photo op.  Dewey Carter Elementary will celebrate by kicking off Florence School District One’s “Showcasing Our Schools” event with a Candy Land Math Night from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m tonight..
