A fatal crash has been reported in Florence County on I-20 near mile marker 140 on the eastbound side, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
According to Cpl. David Jones the accident occurred around 2 a.m. Sunday. One person was driving east on I-20 when they went off the road striking a tree. The driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken identifies the victim as Justun Tarodd Simmons, 21, of Florence. Simmons was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved and there were no passengers in the vehicle.
