Sunday, Florence Kiwanis Club held an egg drop charity at the Boxwood Plantation to support autism.

They dropped 750 plastic eggs out of a helicopter for a charity contest. Each egg cost $10 to buy and you would put your name in it. There was a $1,500 prize if your egg landed in a bucket. None did.

They raised $3,000 for All 4 Autism’s camp St. John’s, a summer camp to help children with autism in Florence.

“First time doing this we had no idea how it was gonna be but the kids are out here, this was the first event that we’ve done that has included the kids, so this is great to see them out here something we will continue to do. Their excited about the bouncy house. When the helicopter flew in they were really excited about it.” said Joey McMillan, President of Florence Kiwanis Club, about the event.
