Florence Fire crews respond to structure fire on W. Darlington Street

Florence Fire Department crews responded to a structure fire on Friday.

Crews responded to the fire at 511 W. Darlington Street around 5:22 p.m., Chris Johnson, Fire Marshal and Public Information Officer for the department, says in a press release. 

Crews arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the front of the structure and had the fire under control within minutes, according to Johnson. The fire was caused by smoking and there were working smoke alarms in the home. 

The Florence Fire Department responded three engine companies, a ladder company, and a command officer, Johnson also said. Florence County EMS and Florence police also responded. There were no injuries.
