“It is safe to return home.” Says Florence County Emergency Management on Facebook.
In a post on Facebook, the Florence County Emergency Management said they are lifting the mandatory evacuation order for Zone 1 along the Lynches River from the Highway 301 bridge to the Highway 52 bridge. Evacuation orders for the Black Creek area have also been lifted.
This includes:
- Kelley Road from N Bethel Road to Old Creek Road
- W Old # 4 Hwy from Salem Road to Hwy 52
- McAllister Mill Road from W Old # 4 Hwy to Wylie Road
- Oak Grove Road from E Deer Road to Meadow Prong
- Meadow Prong from Olanta Hwy to Oak Grove Road

Officials warn that some roads may be damaged of have standing water. These roads have been blocked off by barriers.
Before reentering your home you should look outside for damage and hazards like hanging power lines, cracked foundations, amd damaged gas lines. Watch out for wild animals like snakes that may have entered your home with the floodwater.
