The Florence County Council passed a second reading of an ordinance to allow Sunday alcohol sales.
In a meeting on Thursday, the issue was up for public comment, but no one spoke publicly on the matter. Three council members voted no to the ordinance and six voted yes.
The proposal would allow temporary permits for the sale of alcohol by the drink as well as beer and wine on Sundays.
If the proposal passes one more reading, voters will decide the issue in a November ballot referendum.
