FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Several Florence businesses were evacuated Thursday morning after a restaurant on South Cashua Drive received a bomb threat, police report.

Lt. Mike Brandt with the Florence Police Department says officers were called to a bomb threat at Marco’s Pizza, located at 2501 South Cashua Drive, around 10:41 a.m. Thursday. Officers evacuated the pizza restaurant and adjacent businesses while the Florence County Sheriff’s Office Explosives Canine Unit searched the area.

No hazardous devices were found, confirms Lt. Brandt, but the incident remains under investigation. Police did not say how the threat was made. Anyone with information related to the threat is asked to call the Florence Police Department at 843-665-3191.
