“Florence 7” benefit motorcycle ride raises nearly $20k for families of fallen, injured officers

The “Florence 7” benefit motorcycle ride raised thousands of dollars for the families of officers injured and killed in the October Vintage Place shooting.

The benefit ride, which was held on Saturday, raised nearly $20,000, according to David Easler, with Black Jack Harley Davidson in Florence. All of the money raised will be given out to the families of the officers in the coming weeks.

“We are very thankful for the guys that came out to ride and show their support, and to let the families know how much their loved ones mean to us,” said Tony Baird, one owner of Raceway Grill.

The ride fee was $20 for all bikers, and it included meals, live entertainment, and activities. Kids also joined the fun for $5.

“It’s been great to see the community come together the way it has. We’re just hoping to give and show law enforcements that people care,” said Ben Knotts. one of the ride’s organizers.
