As relief efforts continue, please remember the best way to help the Red Cross is through financial donations. People can text the word “FLORENCE” to 90999 to make a $10 donation. After a big disaster, an average of 91 cents of each dollar is spent on shelter, food, relief items, health and emotional support, and financial assistance, as well as the logistics and support needed for volunteers to help those affected, the Red Cross reports.
