FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Florence County deputies are investigating after a body was discovered Tuesday morning, officials confirm.
Major Mike Nunn with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office says deputies, along with the coroner’s office, are investigating the discovery of a body in a pond off South Cashua Drive in Florence.
Lt. Ben Byers with South Carolina Department of Natural Resources says agents received a call for a suspected drowning at the location, and at this time, DNR is treating the body discovery as an apparent drowning.
Officials have not released the deceased person’s identity.
