People found a man who was pushed off of the road by floodwaters in Dillon on Monday morning.
Carlie Arnett is in his mid-eighties and was on his way to work just before daylight on Monday on Highway 301 North. Arnett went across a Pee Dee River bridge and floodwaters hit the side of his truck, pushing the car off of the road towards a swampy area.
When the water pushed him off the side of the road, someone in the area at the time rescued the man.
“I didn’t know what to do and a big truck come along, and he stopped and he said, you got problems, let me help you get out. And, he opened his door and he helped me pull my door open, pushed it open, and I got out and he carried me home,” says Arnett.
Arnett’s truck is stuck in the floodwaters and he says he has never seen flooding this bad.
