DILLON COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – Dillon County Council met Wednesday afternoon to discuss the county administrator’s contract.

Rodney Berry is the current county administrator. Berry’s contract isn’t supposed to end until the end of 2018.

County Council member, Archie Scott, said Berry’s contract was discussed because some council members were concerned with his contract.

County Council met for nearly three hours in executive session.

When council came out of executive session, a motion was made to extend Berry’s contract until Dec. 2019.

The motion did not pass after Stevie Grice, Gerome McLeod, Harold Moody, and T.F. Finklea opposed it.

County Council members Archie Scott, Jack Scott, and James Campbell were in favor of the motion.

“Everything stays the same, the administrator stays in his position, and he still has the regular contract of the December of 2018,” Archie Scott told News13 after the meeting.

Dillon County Chairman Stevie Grice, and Berry both declined an interview with News13.
