DILLON, SC (WBTW) – The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office says what began as a death investigation Tuesday morning is considered a murder case.
A man was found dead at his home on Tuesday morning. Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley identified the victim as 62-year-old Preston Benjamin. Benjamin was found dead at his home on Mockingbird Loop in Dillon. An autopsy will take place Thursday.
Captain Cliff Arnette with the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office says the call came in around 8 a.m. It was determined Benjamin was killed at his home and the death is being investigated as a murder, says Capt. Arnette.
SLED agents are assisting with the investigation.
