DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – The Darlington County School District will offer free bus driver training classes.

The classes will be held May 6 to May 10 from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Darlington County School District Annex, located at 102 Park St. in Darlington, according to a press release from the district. Class space is limited and the deadline to register is May 3 at noon.

To register for the class, call the DCSD Office of Transportation at 843-398-2313.

Drivers will earn between $11.30 and $15.82 per hour, according to the district. Requirements for bus drivers include:

  • at least 18 years old
  • a valid SC driver’s license for 1 year
  • a high school diploma or GED
  • pass a SLED check, physical, and a drug test
