HARTSVILLE, SC (WBTW) – A vehicle hit a Darlington County deputy’s cruiser Tuesday night while he responded to an armed robbery call.
The deputy had his emergency lights and siren on, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office, but a vehicle still hit the cruiser at the intersection of W. Bobo Newsom Highway and Kelleytown Road at approximately 6:45 p.m.
The deputy was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. The two people in the other car weren’t seriously injured, the sheriff’s office said. None of their identities were released.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
The sheriff’s office didn’t release additional information about the armed robbery.
