DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – The coroner says a teen girl died following a crash at the intersection of Kelley Bridge Road at Rainbow View Road Wednesday afternoon.
According to Cpl. Sonny Collins with South Carolina Highway Patrol, the one-car crash happened at 4:10 p.m. on Wednesday. The car was traveling on Kelly Bridge Road when the driver lost control, ran off the road and hit a tree.
Cpl. Collins says the driver was killed in the crash and the passenger was taken to Carolina Pines Hospital. Both the driver and passenger were wearing their seatbelts.
Darlington County Coroner J T Hardee identified the victim as 17-year-old Lidia Velasquez of Wedgefield.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a cause of the crash.
