A woman died after a two-vehicle head-on crash Wednesday.
Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken said the crash happened Wednesday afternoon near the 2500 block of Vox Highway west of Johnsonville. He identified the victim as 50-year-old Ellen Travaglio of Johnsonville. Travaglio was the only occupant of the car she was in.
Lance Cpl. Judd Jones with the S.C. Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 4:25 p.m. He said the driver who died was in a pick-up truck traveling east on the highway when it crossed into the westbound lane and hit an oncoming driver who was also in a pick-up truck. He said the driver who died was not wearing a seatbelt.
Jones said the driver who was traveling westbound was wearing a seatbelt and suffered minor injuries.
