Several South Carolina counties have received assistance from FEMA, Congressman Tom Rice announced on Facebook on Friday.

Dillon, Horry, Marion, and Marlboro Counties have been granted individual assistance from FEMA, according to a post on Congressman Rice’s Facebook page. The four counties have also been granted public assistance.

“I’ve been in close contact with FEMA officials over the past few days to request federal assistance for counties impacted by Hurricane Florence,” Rice’s post says. “I’m glad to see these results and will continue working with FEMA to ensure our community receives necessary resources for a strong recovery.”

Those who sustained losses in the above counties can apply for federal assistance by registering online here or by calling 800-621-3362, according to a press release from the Henry McMaster/Office of the Governor.

“Assistance can include money for temporary rental assistance and essential home repairs for primary homes, low-interest loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration to cover uninsured property losses and other programs to help survivors recover from the effects of the disaster,” the release from the Office of the Governor states.

Disaster assistance applicants who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have a speech disability, may call 800-462-7585, the release says. Those who use 711 or Video Relay Service may call 800-621-3362. The toll-free telephone numbers will operate 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week until further notice.
