FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – A utility pole was broken during a crash Thursday near a gas station in Florence.

According to a News13 crew at the scene, the crash happened near the Exxon gas station at the intersection of Claussen Road and Pamplico Highway.

Photos sent from our crew show a pole with wires attached broken into at least two pieces.

The two-vehicle crash involved a car and a utility truck, according to Florence Police Department Captain Mike Brandt, the car struck the utility truck, causing the truck to hit the utility pole.

Both drivers were taken to a hospital for evaluation, Brandt said. Power was out in the area, but has since been restored.
