DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a crash invloving a school bus Tuesday morning in Darlington County.
Darlington County Schools Public Information Officer Audrey Childers said the incident happened on McIver Road when a car ran into the back of a school bus carrying 34 students on the way to Brunson-Dargen and Cain Elementary schools.
SCHP’s website reported the crash happened around 7:00 a.m. on East McIver Road near Riverview Road.
A viewer submitted a photo of the scene later in the morning that shows the front of the car and rear of the bus engulfed with flames.
Childers said no one on the bus was injured in the crash and all parents were notified.
SCHP spokesman Cpl. Sonny Collins says the car’s driver was taken to a hospital. That person’s condition is unknown.
