Sunday morning the Boy Scouts of America of the Pee Dee were concerned that the Camp Coker Dam would fail due to water overtopping the damn. As of Sunday night the dam is holding.
In a press release Michael Hesbach, CEO of the Boy Scouts of America Pee Dee Council said, the dam is no longer being overtopped with water and water is draining through the emergency drains.
He warns that Camp Coker Road is closed and washed out between Funderbunk Road and Moree Road in Society Hill.
He says he is monitoring the dam and maintaining contact with downstream landowners.
