The burn ban has been lifted in Darlington County Wednesday afternoon, according to a press release.
The burn ban was lifted shortly after the South Carolina Forestry Commission lifted their Red Flag warning.
County residents are still encouraged to be extremely cautious when doing any outdoor burning, as ground conditions are still very dry.
Darlington County ordinances state that for outdoor burning to be done safely:
- fires should be continuously monitored by sober adults
- be at least 25 feet away from all roads and buildings- and 50 feet from any homes
- only include natural vegetation that was grown on that property
