(WBTW) – The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office says an arrest has been made in connection with the shooting that killed a 5-year-old and hurt two adults.
Captain Cliff Arnette said the shooting happened on Lester Road around 2 a.m. Saturday morning. Lakiesha Shanae Martin, 24, of Latta, is charged with attempted murder for shooting one of the victims, Capt. Arnette confirms.
According to Donnie Grimsley, Dillon County coroner, 5-year-old Perla Banuelos-Allende died of a gunshot wound. Her death is being treated as a homicide.
Martin is currently in custody at the Dillon County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing.
