The American Red Cross partnered with Southern Baptists to help provide food to thousands of people through mobile food kitchens.

WBTW News13 found a mobile food kitchen on Thursday at Hoffmeyer Road Baptist Church in Florence. There was also one set up on Thursday at North Conway Baptist Church.

The meals went to people impacted by the storm and the floods.

“We actually put these hot meals in our emergency response vehicles and deliver them to people that can’t get out of their homes to get food,” says Louise Welch, the regional CEO for Red Cross South Carolina.

In total, the partnerships with Southern Baptists can produce nearly 170,000 meals a day.
