FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – A 43-year-old Gresham woman died in a head-on crash Tuesday night in Florence County.
Latonya Moore Austin was driving south in a Honda on US 378 at about 8:25 p.m. when her car and a Mercedes SUV heading west collided. The incident occurred near the Pee Dee River Bridge, at the Florence and Marion County line.
Austin died at the scene, Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken reported on Wednesday.
The other driver was taken to the hospital. His condition is not known at this time.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash with help from the Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team.
