3 taken to the hospital after car crashes in Corner Connection in Darlington

Three people were taken to the hospital after a car crashed into the Corner Connection store on Cashua Ferry Road in Darlington, Saturday afternoon.

Lt. Kimberly Nelson with the Darlington Police Department tells us the crash happened at around 1:30 p.m. She says the driver mistakenly pushed on the accelerator rather than the brake, popping the curb and crashing into the store.

Three people were taken to the hospital with injuries from this crash. We don’t know if the driver was among those injured. Lt. Nelson says none of the injuries are considered critical.

Ann Blackmon is a cashier at the store and witnessed the crash. “I was behind the counter when the car came in and it ran into the man and pressed him up against the counter,” she told us. “Glass was flying everywhere. First thing I did was run behind the counter and got out because the car was smoking and I didn’t want it to blow up”
