DILLON, SC (WBTW) – A body was discovered after a Dillon house fire Sunday night, according to fire officials.
Dillon City Fire Chief Keith Bailey says crews were called to a home on West Hudson Street around 10 p.m. Sunday night. The house was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived.
Chief Bailey says one body was found inside the home.
Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley says 18-year-old Delton Junior McKenzie, IV died. We’re told McKenzie lived in the home. His father and uncle were also there when the fire broke out, but they got out safely.
There is still no word on a possible cause of the fire.
SLED and the state fire marshal office have been called in to assist with the investigation.
