DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – A Darlington County school bus was hit from behind Friday morning, but district officials say no students were injured.

Darlington County School District Public Information Officer Audrey Childers confirms 12 students from Darlington High and Middle schools were on-board Friday morning when a vehicle ran into the back of a stopped school bus.

The accident occurred on Indian Branch Road near Branhams Airport Road. South Carolina Highway Patrol reports the crash happened around 7:19 a.m. Per district protocol, emergency services were called and everyone was checked by EMS, Childers adds.

There were no injuries reported on the bus and parents of students have been notified.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol traffic system reports injuries were involved in the passenger car, but the severity of those injuries is unknown.
