FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – One person is dead after a two vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 52 near Effingham.
According to Keith von Lutcken, Florence County Coroner, Barry Crocker, 86, of Timmonsville died Monday night.
The crash happened on Monday around 1:20 p.m. on US 52 near Effingham and McCall Farms, according to Cpl. Sonny Collins, with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
A Chevrolet utility sport vehicle was traveling south on US 52 when a Chevrolet Impala pulled out from a private drive onto the highway, Cpl. Collins said. The Chevrolet Impala failed to yield right of way and was struck by the Chevrolet SUV.
Cpl. Collins also said both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
