One person has died after a single vehicle crash on S. Hill Road in the Timmonsville area.
Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken has identified the person killed as 28-year-old Leandre Rashawn Kelly of Timmonsville.
According to L.Cpl. Matt Southern, with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the single vehicle crash happened at 6:25 p.m. on Friday on S. Hill Road near Warren Street in the Timmonsville area.
A 2004 Ford four-door was traveling eastbound on S. Hill Road when it ran off the right side of the road and struck a mailbox, Southern said. Kelly overcorrected and overturned in the westbound lanes of S. Hill Road.
Kelly sustained injuries after being entrapped and the passenger also sustained injuries, said Southern. Both were not wearing a seat belt and were taken to McLeod Hospital, where Kelly later died from injuries.
No information on the passenger’s condition is available. The SCHP is investigating.
